Settling the past isn’t always easy. It’s best to be engaged in the present and your future. Only miserable people, who are addicted to their emotions, reflect on bad memories and there will be many of you who will always enjoy being drunk on emotion. If so, you will never settle the past.
Trust me, there are people with stories far worse than anything any one of us can tell. No one’s life is a walk in the park.
Warning. Talking about anything bad, can’t be good
I’ve told my story, bravely, for long enough, when in essence all I really wanted to do was to showcase the strength I had and not to be saddened. Truth is, just talking about it often brings up bad memories and sets my emotions for the day. There’s a balance, a fine line between building up and tearing down, every time we revisit the past. The past is called the past for a reason.
Live in the present and sober your emotions
If there’s a current situation that isn’t settled, by all means do your best. Once you’ve done everything you can, you should settle the past by quieting your mind. As the song goes, you can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you can get what you need.
It hurts too bad, and can actually make you physically ill and effect your long-term health to get too upset, or over-emotional about anything, including the past.
Because change is the only thing certain, for me today, I realize that the present is all we can count on. The saying, “Living in the moment” is not just a saying, its a way of life that can bring much happiness.
